If you are looking for non-command line easy way to backup your folders, use Déjà Dup or Duplicati. Déjà Dup is Linux tool and it is a default backup application in Ubuntu, Duplicati provides also Windows and Mac OS X binaries and has better support for cloud services such as Amazon S3, Rackspace, Google Docs, Sky Drive, both have options for file based, FTP, SSH, WEBDAV. It is possible to manually add support for Amazon S3 or Rackspace to Déjà Dup too, but it is not so intuitive.
